Current Drupal 7 media management and linking solutions are built around the D7 Media and Media: WYSIWYG modules which allow content authors to add, browse and embed media by integrating with the CKEditor 4 WYSIWYG editor via the Editor, CKEditor and/or WYSIWYG modules. However, CKEditor 4 reached end of life in 2023 and is no longer receiving security coverage and updates.
